C’ta ton tour Jack
Présenté par Le Festival de Jazz de Québec
November 24, 2012
From November 21 to November 25, a multidisciplinary event entirely dedicated to the writer Jack Kerouac will be held in different places in the heart of Quebec City. The author of the novel On the Road will be greatly celebrated by renowned artists and speakers. The year 2012 marks both the 90th anniversary of Jack Kerouac and the 25th of the Rencontre internationale Jack Kerouac which was held in Quebec City. It seemed therefore natural to celebrate the work of this author by inviting musicians, actors and literature lovers to join in honouring the multiple facets of the writer’s work and life.
Concerts and round tables with celebrities and artists like Mark Murphy, David Amram and Normand Guilbeault will be suggested to jazz, literature and song lovers.
On November 24, at Le Cabaret du Capitole, people will be able to attend the great collective concert “C’t’a ton tour Jack” that will bring together on stage some major names of Quebec musical scene like Yann Perreau, Isabelle Blais and Pierre Flynn. During this evening, texts written by North American French composers who have been inspired by the work of Jack Kerouac and “The Beat Generation” will be honoured. The renowned Normand Guilbeault will be the artistic director of this very promising event!
