The Meeting Place for the Performing Arts



Throughout the years, the biggest names in music, music hall and vaudeville grace the stage of this great theatre hall.

It becomes a favourite for showing movies, and the venue of choice for concerts, galas and receptions.

Those were the golden years, full of splendour and excitement.


The Dark Years



The 1970’s mark the beginning of an unfortunate decline. After being converted into a movie theatre, it is eventually abandoned in 1982. The curtain falls and remains down for 10 long years. The magic had vanished leaving only darkness and regret.

to its former glory.
